The Incident:By now we all know the story. On Sept. 17, Sen. John Kerry spoke at the University of Florida and then opened the floor for questions. One student, Andrew Meyer, made his way to the microphone after waiting in line to ask his question and subsequently had his microphone turned off, was grabbed by police and after resisting, wrestled to the ground and TASERed. I don’t enjoy Christmas as much as I did when I was younger. I like to think that I can pinpoint the exact moment it began to be less magical for me as the moment I realized how much work my parents put into the whole event. The planning, spending and selflessness involved just made it harder to completely lose myself in the moment.
