Shh…Just Go With It, Fearless Records

Yes, that is the actual title of this monstrosity: Shh… Just Go With It. I’m glad that these witty gentlemen had the mental gusto to power out so poetic a title. It inspired me, so I came up with some new song titles for the lads: “Slip One in Her Drink” should be the first track and the second, “Shh….Jenny it’s Just Me, Casper.” The sad part is that they try and hide what may be their true intentions in trite lyrics and the most cliché pop garbage that all these fashionmongers try and out sell to the hordes of we-don’t-know-better 13 year olds. I think these boys, their peers and this genre closest resemble ‘80s glam rock with extravagant aesthetics, make-up and long swooping haircuts. Oh, and a lack of concern for the content of their music or general integrity. I would love to tell you about some tracks from this record but it turns out I couldn’t listen to more than 30 or 40 seconds of each, although I did catch the first chorus of the album in which Every Avenue states “Do you remember when we made out till the sun went down?” I just hope they asked for a legal form of I.D. first. Now that I think about it, is the band name supposed to be another innuendo as well? If I could find a reason that made sense to pick this up I would but maybe you like to laugh at absurdities, in that case look at their band photo or listen to one song. Lastly, the title was too long; they could have stopped at “Shh” and given me a blank CD to reduce the waste that they have created.
