A Perfect Place, Original Motion Picture Soundtrack
Mike Patton provided vocals to the shrieking demons that stalk the darkened post- evacuation New York in the Will Smith vehicle, I am Legend. This is a lovely addition to an already rather busy (Faith No More, Peeping Tom, and Fantomas) resume.
Returning to the film world, Mr. Patton’s A Perfect Place is a soundtrack for a 20-minute film about a couple of friends attempting to dispose of a body. A Perfect Place consists of a mix of standard soundtrack inclusions (AM and FM radio buzz, Hitchcock/Phillip Glass inspired strings) and inventive synthesis (a soaring, static-backed operatic climax, “Il Cupo Dolore”).
